Parents always want to do their best; sometimes we need help
I graduated from Northeastern University with a Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology. My initial focus was on mothers who struggled with substance abuse disorders and mental health concerns. Starting in 2000, I began to exclusively focus on the impact of trauma on parenting and child development, with a particular focus on families with young children and helping parents to become therapeutic parents. My approach exclusively uses a trauma sensitive lens; the tenets being trauma impacts everyone, changes everything and relationships heal/resilience is possible. At Developing Families, I will support you to better understand the needs of the caregivers and the children in your family. This can happen through couples counseling and parent guidance therapy, parent consultation, therapeutic parent coaching and/or with doula services for families experiencing PMADS (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder).
